HJT optics
Calibrates Quokka3's extended Basore optical model to measured reflection and EQE of a Fraunhofer ISE HJT cell to quantify NIR parasitic absorption.
This example calibrates Quokka3’s optical model (the extended Basore model) against measured reflection and EQE data from a Fraunhofer ISE HJT cell. Fitting the optical model to the measurements lets the user identify and quantify the significant near-infrared parasitic absorption losses in the a-Si and TCO layers, using the Appp (near-surface absorption parameter) concept.
A download (bifacial_HJT_optics_fit.zip) is provided for hands-on use.
What this example covers:
- Calibrating the extended Basore optical model to measured reflection and EQE
- Quantifying NIR parasitic absorption in a-Si and TCO layers
- Applying the near-surface absorption parameter (Appp) concept
